Film Screening: Sabbath Queen
Sabbath Queen, a feature documentary filmed over 21 years, follows Rabbi Amichai Lau-Lavie's epic journey as the dynastic heir of 38 generations of Orthodox rabbis including the Chief Rabbis of Israel. He is torn between rejecting and embracing his destiny and becomes a drag-queen rebel, a queer bio-dad and the founder of Lab/Shul—an everybody-friendly, God-optional, artist-driven, pop-up experimental congregation.
Sabbath Queen joins Amichai on a lifelong quest to creatively and radically reinvent religion and ritual, challenge patriarchy and supremacy, champion interfaith love, and stand up for peace, ceasefire, and an end to the Occupation in Israel/Palestine. The film interrogates what Jewish survival means in a difficult rapidly changing 21st century.
Sabbath Queen is directed and produced by Sandi DuBowski

Loud & Proud Showcase
We're thrilled to announce a brand new music event on Friday, June 13th from 7-10 PM. Loud & Proud Showcase 2025 is organized in partnership with Stage United and Nomad Supply Company! Doors for the show will open at 6 PM, music at 7 PM!
2025 Lineup:
CAB ELLIS
Best known for their uninhibited, intoxicating live performances, Cab Ellis is the underground revival’s best-kept secret. With a penchant for stage diving, spitting beer into mosh pits, and splitting guitar strings center stage, the band stirs a certain chaos and confusion in young fans while conjuring a deep nostalgia for a bygone era in older listeners.
The band has completed two national tours and has sold out iconic venues like Bowery Ballroom and Baby’s All Right. In an age where everything is polished and perfect, Cab Ellis’ live show and sound are a complete rebellion. Backed by an army of 6 jazz musicians bucking against the confines of their traditional training, Abeles’ heartfelt, explosive energy is capable of uniting a room full of strangers into one anarchic being. Cab Ellis is set to release their third studio album in June 2025.
SELL BY YESTERDAY
"if you've been even remotely kicking around the local scene for the past year or so, there's a high probability that you've caught sell by yesterday somewhere: school of rock doylestown. nomad supply company, pumpkin fest at tileworks, the printer's alley block party, or the rainbow room. they've seemingly been everywhere lately, and with good reason. this three/four-piece (ryn: guitar, vocals; noelle, bass, vocals; brendan: drums; and blair: keyboard] is stirring up good trouble with an energetic mix of originals and covers and a rowdy, get-you-into-it stage presence." - James Lamb of Rivot Magazine
BREN
Bren is a Philly-based singer/songwriter writing cathartic pop tunes from a punk heart. Having moved over 10 times in her life, dropped out of college, ended and started new relationships, Bren knows a thing or two about unexpected change. Breaking through self-doubt is a common theme throughout her writing. Distilling influences ranging from Elliott Smith to Mitski to the Pixies, Bren’s music shares familiar sentiments of vulnerability and introspection, serving as your companion for feelings you may not have even realized you had.
